12's or 15's

if i have a pair of subs that are the same brand and put the same amount power to them which would sound better having 2 12's or 2 15's? i would have 1000 watts rms going to each of them.

well do u want ur subs to be loud or have better sound if u want loud 15's but remeber the more important thing is having a good box

Fifteens are not going to distort bass anymore that any other driver that you have. The difference would not be audible. You may have had a bad fifteen or something, who knows. The only difference between twelves and fifteens is usually the SPL rating or X-max, mechanically. Usually the bigger the driver, the higher efficiency it has.

A twleve inch driver may have a lower Q rating, but once again, the difference would probably not be very audible. The twelve will wound more crisp, as it has a lesser mass to move, so the cone spider and cone assembly can retract faster and produce a punchier sound.

go with 15's if you want to be heard....... 12's dont get me wrong are cleaner but 15's are louder and move more air

ice tee, it depends on the enclosure, but the 15 would be louder because in genral they would require a larger box than the 12, so more output from less power..
