12's or 10's please help...

i am a man wqho loves his music. i am a musician. i appreciate all kinds of music. I love my rock n roll, metal, new age rock, hard rock, etc...

however on the other hand, i love my ghetto tunes with mad bass.. rap, dance music, techno, etc..

my ex girflriend had a a honda civic with 2 12's and those were nice for the "ghetto music" however with we played my rock n roll, and hard rock and what not it didnt sound as good. someone please help.

im guessing 15 are to much and 8's are to little. and 2 subs are just enough for what i want i think. im not sure. i need your guys's help....

Well alot is install dependent. You probably want to go with some good 10" subs. I would look into image dynamic. But if you want the best of both worlds then get some 12" subs in a nice enclousere off a decent amp and rock away. What kind of budget are you on if any?

for rock, and you want authentic reproduction of the leading edge of guitar bass...look into a nice aluminum cone driver like the alumapro alchemy mx & rx, eclipse aluminums....the 12's move plenty of air to satisfy the bass heavy stuff, but they are right on the money for rock music..

I dont know where all this erronious info comes from, but its wrong. Neither cone size nor cone material play any significant role in the sound characteristics of a subwoofer (how well it handles rock etc). Research into enclosure alignments, that's where you tailor the sound of your sub, not in buying a certain size or an aluminum cone.

Id go with two Perfect12DVQ's if I were you. Used to own a 12VQ and it sounded great and did hit hard when I wanted it to //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif.

Could try Diamond, too. Just my opinion....do whatever sounds good to you..
