12mm/0.47inch MDF

Can anyone tell me how much affect 12mm mdf would make a difference rather than 19mm in the making of a subwoofer box. Sound Quality Wise? I am looking at putting in 1 Type R Alpine 12inch Sub

You would need to brace it to hell. no point realy, i would use that mdf if it was for some 4inch drivers, maybe.

on a R with good power I wouldnt use less than 3/4 unless its a tiny box with like 300w

Agreed. Unless it's a tiny speaker/sub, don't use anything less than 3/4". If you absolutely had to use .5" just made sure you brace it well. Dowels work well.

i have just picked up some brackets, nails and glue so hopefully that should work, if it doesnt then ill make a new one out of 3/4inch.

if you can, double up everything and you won't need to buy 3/4"

You can never brace too much, why not double it up and have nearly 1"

I have used 1" for 2 sides of a 10x10x24 box, but id never use it on bigger panels, not all that strong. Works good for door panels and baffles and such though.

Question, how did u attach the 2 pieces together to make it 1 inch? just glue with some nails spread through the middle and surrounding sides, or something more complicated?

You can either glue the two baffles together and clamp them until they dry or glue them and screw them together.
