128db Siren

Is this a loud siren? Not sure about the concept of the db's, so I am not sure it would wake me up or scare someone away.

at the frequency that siren would produce, 128db would most likely be ear-piercingly loud....

use 6... time them to go off a few milliseconds apart.. the harmonics of the notes will make it unbareable to anyone lol

yes, 128 is friggin loud but rememeber that is prolly measured about 4" from the siren. Still, that's loud.

When "The Who" were getting complaints 14 miles away from there concerts, they were recorded at 140db.

but you have to remember that the siren is mounted under your hood. That's going to attenuate the output of your siren. If you want your security system to be loud and annoying. Don't just hook up the siren but also the horn to .. It does two things makes your security system more identifiable but also more annoying.. which one bothers you more a siren or someone's horn honking. Besides that , you're going to find that the horn maybe louder than the siren, especially since the horn is mounted in your fender.

three battery backup sirens, one in engine bay by battery pointing down, one in car, wherever, just make it hard to get to, and one outside under the vehicle, near the mid/back.

two mini sirens in ur a/c vents aiming toward central point in car.
