127 DB on 2 8's?

How accurate are those Radioshack SPL meters? I have 2 Fosgate 8's in a bandpass box with a JL Audio 250 monoblock amp. Meter hit 127.6 on Late Night Tip. The meter was sitting on the dash of my extended cab Dakota. The box is on the back seat. Can this be possible? I know it get's really loud in there but 127 db.

They're not very accurate. The only meter really trusted is the TL.

probably not too accurate compared to a TL

but my 8s hit 139.5 on a TL, havent metered on anything else

127 isnt prolly too far off. Thats not very loud but for 2 8" RF's its not bad.

not only are they inaccurate, i'm pretty sure those radioshack meters don't read avove 130

Yeah I think the box said it only goes to 130. It get's pretty darn loud in the truck, but you can barely hear it outside. Must be good insulation or something.

Those Radioshack meters come in handy... unless you just want to know what spl you hit... then of course, they aren't on par with the godly termlab. The RS digital meter reads up to 126. The ANALog one reads up to 130 I think.

Yep highest i seen was a 152.....but that was SB1....30sec avg on music:yumyum:

I bought these subs at Crutchfield a couple of weeks ago. I was thinking about trading them back in for 2 Kicker CVR 8"s. They are only $45 more than what I paid for these. Which ones would be better? I have the Fosgate P1's now
