1200w to a p3?

I'm one of the few who just do it by ear so all I can say is start low and bump it up as needed.

Well let me see....

lets just reverse from 600watts at 4ohms

600 x 4= 2400

49 x 49 = 2401

So about 49 volts at 4 ohms.

40 volts gets you the 800 watt range at 2ohms.

32 volts gets you in the 500 watts range at 2ohms.

Now the sub is rated to handle 500 watts RMS so when playing tones we want no more than 32 volts at 2ohms, when playing music we can get away with more because the power is not constant so I would go for something in the 35 to 40 volt range.

49volts? my 1500w amp is only supposed to be set at 38.5? @1ohm but i didnt think it changed the voltage
The ratio of wattage to voltage changes drastically as the ohms decrease. For example 20 volts at 8ohms equals alot less power then 20 volts at 1ohm.

20v @8ohm= 50 watts

20v @1ohm= 400watts
