if he can wire his subs to 1 ohm, he should be able to wire them at 4 ohm and it will produce atleast 1400 watts rms.

I'd vouch for the NINe.1 by Elemental Designs. It is very under-rated and I ran it at 1 ohm with my IDMAX and it was still cool, even in summer!!!

9.1's are the SHIT. If you can find a used one for under your price range, than get it. But they are $350 + shipping new, if I remember correctly...

Bx1500? with that kind of money he can get a BX1800d or even a BX2200d much more powerful than the BX1500 and much less overrated.

BX1500ds have a history of dying VERY FAST!! I had one for 2 weeks before it just went into protect everytime it was powered on. THere are MANY other similar cases, that's what made me try out the NINe.1, because of the 3 year warranty.
