1200 watt sony xplod amp

i have a sony xplod amp does 500rms bridged at 4ohms or 200x2 at 4 ohms or 250x2 at 2ohms

i have it bridged at 4ohms running a kicker l7 12" and i seen my gains should be reading at 44volts

whats the highest i should go so i get the most out of the amp but dont clip and blow the sub

is the 500watts at 4ohms equals 44volts is that rms or peak

because my gain isnt even halfway i thought my amp could do more than that

the 44vac if calculated correctly would give you the amps rms.....to know if it is clipping or if the amp can put out more rms without clipping, you would need an o-scope

where can i get an oscope and how much do they cost

also to get the most out of the amp how far past 500rms can i go if it clips after 500 could i go like 600 and it not hurt the sub or no

any clipping is no good....you should run the amp just below clipping to get the most!

if it clips at 500 then you should run ~475

let me look up an o-scope
