Hey i am just about to buy a 12 w7 and am wondering how accurate they are and if it is true that one 12w7 will be louder than 2 underpowered 15 inch L7's...i listen to mostly rap but sometimes rock, like hard rock and i do like to hear the double bass and so i was wondering will this be able to hit them as accurate as my 3 10 w3s?

I was looking at some frequency response graphs of the w7's today and its almost a completely flat response from abour 22hz-80hz. Pretty amazing. The L7's did peak about 6db higher but had a completely off frequency response.

L7's will be good for SPL

w7 will be best for SQ and an even frequency response.

the w3's should have a good mix of both.

One thing everyone is forgetting to read is 2 underpowered 15L7's.

if you are running a 500\1 JL amp, id go with the W7 in a nice fat low tuned daily box.

id rather run a w7 over the l7, but if you are looking for sheer output, the L7's will win if you give them a bit more power (maybe another 1000~1500 watts lol )

500/1 go with the.....wait, stay with the W3's....3 w3's will sound better than a W7 any day. Better response...I believe they are somewhere around 92-93 db/ 1watt/1meter....dont quote me on that, but I know that they are some of the best rated SQ's low prices woofers out there...I heard 4 12's with 1 v-12.....WOW it hurt....i know 4 12's should hurt anyways but....it was a very nice sound.

for 1 w7 vs. 2 l7

w7 > l7 for sq

l7 > w7 for spl

BUT, b/c of only jl 500/1, idk how well those kickers would more with only 250-300 watts a piece. It would also be box/space dependant. I'd take the w7 hands down, but that's just me (I'm not a big spl junkie)
