Your solo should've come with a datasheet that gives information about the recommended box size.

The actual answer is that it depends on everything.

But they include general sizing information.

Very generally, with sealed systems, you can go as small as 2- thirds the recommended size enclosure without noticing a difference in sound quality... plus, the woofer may handle more power in the smaller box.

This should be moved to subwoofers.
