get the dd if built into the right box itllhave just as much sq as any other sub dont listen to peoples bogus opinions......most never heard/played with one.....

i'd have to disagree with that. although i'm perfectly satisfied with my dd's sq, i can hear it get just a tad sloppy sometimes, about 4 minutes into metallica one comes to mind.

that said, i mostly listen to rock, classic rock, jazz, jam bands, or odd stuff like buckethead, les claypool, and i by far prefer my 9518g to my 05 xxx 18.

This is all subjective. Clearly the XXX has more linear dispalcement potential than the 9500, flatter BL curve, less distortion output, etc etc... but some people will still prefer the traditional motor designs.

That being said, the old xxx should murder a 9500 in SQ.

it did. my xxx was also in a box designed by pete kulicki for flat response and the best sound possible, while my 9500's box was designed by pete to be as brutally loud to the ear as possible.

however, it still sounds good enough for me on my normal listening material. for the hardcore SQ guy, probably not.

lol @ bumping a 6 month old thread.

i paid 450 shipped for my 9518g with the composite dustcap, used. new, they're in the 6-700 range, not sure the exact amount.
