12" Q vs RE SE

here's what i got currently. A BXi 2006D powering a 12w6v2 in a 1.25 sealed box. Overall it sounds really good, the problem, there is way to many cars running jl. I'm looking at eather a Fi Q or a RE SE, but i have never heard any of them. if i was to keep the same setup and just swap the sub. how would you compare the overall sound of the three. thanks.

I don't know if I would change out. The JLW6 is one hell of a driver and heck i'm an Fi fan! If you are curious though, that air space is optimal for a Fi Q in a sealed enclosure and for $260 you could try it and then sell it for $200 if you didn't like it. I will say let it break in for at least two weeks before you make assumptions though...trust me on that. The Q's IMO sound less than ......well they sound very nice after and I repeat AFTER they break in. One of the few subs that I know of they don't sound all that hot out of the box.

im a huge fan of RE but, keep the JL. the W6 is a wicked driver for Sq. if u think is lacks out out, port it, but if your happy with the performance. keep it as is. who cares what every one else has

If you do go with the Q, def let the suspension soften up some, before you make your final judgement. It get much much warmer after an initial breakin.

I'm the opposite. At first I absolutely loved it. Extremely "tight". After they loosen up, it's kind of "loose" But waaay better for low end freq.

Honestly, IMO either of those drivers would be a step down from the W6v2.

Run equipment that you think sounds good to you, not because people around you have it or they don't.

the W6 isa great sound quality driver, u will get more output from the RE and FI, but u would probably miss the way the W6 sounds.
