Hey guys,

Here's another build but this one is a 'demo-box', so to speak, for an audio shop that will hopefully be having me make their prefabs for them (well, not really like other shops prefabs...but you know //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif ).

This is 2.26 cubic feet, tuned to 33.4Hz, with 37.5 sq inches of port area (this design isnt final...im going to tweak it to have more like 42ish sq inches of port area). 45 degree inserts in each corner, every edge involved with the port is rounded and the inner corner of the port's bend has a 45 degree insert in it as well.

Now, IMO this is a pretty good bet for just about any 12" and after some minor tweaks I think it'll be a very well rounded design to sell to people who just bought a 12" woofer there.

But anyways, here are them pics..

Getting started...

Rounding the outside edge of the port..

Clamping the 45 degree insert into the corner of the port..

Finishing up (it doesnt have all of its 45 degree inserts in all of the corners yet...so not entirely done)..

And I might have time to whip up a sealed enclosure for a 10" tonight (for the shop) if I have time...but I'll atleast be able to glue the inserts into the corners..

And the top will not be going onto this and this wont be finished until they/I figure out what we want to happen to it.

^Thanks and I honestly have no idea, haha. All I know is that they liked this box and one of the owners is going to have me make him a box for two 12's. But I'll be making alot of these boxes in the near future (and lots of other boxes similar to this) and if anyone wants one, hit me up

Why don't you use a roundover bit and a router to do the port?
Thanks guys

And for the rounding-over there's really no reason haha, other than its a demo and i had my sander out there and I got the main shape with that and just hand sanded it to a better shape...this was only made to show them the jist of what theyd be getting. When im making boxes in large amounts everything will be pretty much the same except for using the round-over bit on a router instead of sanding, haha.

Ah I see, well it looks good.
