12" Massive DMX or 12" SI mags need your advice

DMX for sure.

Why? Because only used 12" mags are available now:crying:

But if they were both available it would be a tough choice. The DMX wins in the output department, but the mags sound better. The mags still get crazy loud, and unless you are competing the mags, output would never be a problem. And even then they can hold their own in the SPL lanes. But then again the DMX can compete with just about any SPL driver out there. Tough choice. If you want crazy loud go with the DMX. It still is a good sounding driver, it just isn't as good as the mag in sq.

please just watch my videos //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

wait, I have videos for mags and dmx's...hmm, still id go with the dmx if you want straight SPL

Find a used MAG, it is worth it.
I second that. While I have no experience with Massive, I have a Mag 12 now and it impresses. In 2.0 tuned to 32 with about 1100 watts, I hit 141 on music ( Jeezy the Snowman), TL in the kick in a trunk vehicle. It may not be an all out SPL sub, but its output is more than enough. I had DD 3512 before this and it was louder than the Mag, but not by a whole lot

Well by design at the least, the DMX is superior. very easily reconable and higher thermal ratings.... I know the hardcore mag fans wont like that, but it is the truth. I have owned both subs, id trust a DMX to outperform a MAG any day in just straight abuse to it....but the mag is a nice SQL sub - no doubt. Its a hard toss up what would be better for your application.....prob either will do just fine.

Well if you like farting on a daily basis, then there are plenty of other drivers besides a Mag that will be louder at certain frequencies. If you like listening to your music at higher levels of fidelity, then I think you will find it hard pressed to find a driver that is "superior" to a Mag. We'll be the first to admit there are drivers that are considerably louder than a Mag...but they sound a lot worse. And Mag's can be re-coned in the same amount of time as most drivers in their category - but no daily driven setups that I know of carry around with them the CA glue and other utensils necessary to re-cone a driver on the spot. However, we offer very solid warranty coverage and have NEVER received a blown newer generation Mag. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Rating in the phrase "higher thermal rating" is the key word there. We don't even have a thermal rating on ours Mag's, so that's interesting.

see thats the thing, there are tons of subs that can get louder than a Mag.ie, juggernaut,mt's,btl's,dmx, stroker and a few drivers that sound as good if not better tnan a Mag.ie,idq, aura plus more. However the Mags falls in between t hese drivers and offers the best of both worlds. SQ with a hint of SPL.

dude, im not going to argue with you because for one, you're trying to pick a fight with someone who actually sells your subs....which is pretty silly.

secondly, you might want to brush up on what wattage is, which is an expression of heat in my reference.

The total amount of energy transferred through heat transfer is conventionally abbreviated as Q. The conventional sign convention is that when a body releases heat into its surroundings, Q 0 (+). Heat transfer rate, or heat flow per unit time, is denoted

.

It is measured in watts. Heat flux is defined as rate of heat transfer per unit cross-sectional area, and is denoted q, resulting in units of watts per metre squared.

Im not trying to be a dick, nick, but please dont be rude during a discussion.

Aura maybe because i have never heard one. But not any Image Dynamics sounds as good as a MAG. I have owned IDQ and IDW. If hes looking for SPL, then yes he should look elsewhere. To say that the mag is in the middle is assinine, but to each his own.
