12" kicker L7 users, how many CU and hertz is your box set at??

I currently have a prefabricated kicker box for my 12" L7 i belive the box is 1.75cu and i want to upgrade and im not sure what to go with. How many cubic feet does your box have and what HZ do you have it set as, and What type of music do you listen to?? is you sub in a SUV/hatch veiachle or in the trunk??

just finished a system in a 07 gx-470 with a 12" l7. the box was 2.5cuft and tuned it around 35 hz. was running on a sundown 1500, didnt sound the "best" to me but got crazy loud.

I wan't something to sound good. Too bad that I can't get that out of the L7... what's you opinion... 32hz or 35hz with a 2.5 cu or should i stick with a 2.3 cu?

3 cubes to 36 is what i would do,but then again ive never owned and l7 just a cvx

I think i will end up going with 2.5 CU at 35hz, or is it acually worth going with the 3cf?? Is there a limit on dept on a box?? How many inches does the sub have to be away from the rear trunk?? where should the port hole be placed, the top or the side of the box?? Would it make a difference if the port hole was squere or round?? If so what are the pros and cons??

holy crap thats alot of questions //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wow.gif.23d729408e9177caa2a0ed6a2ba6588e.gif seriously go to kicker.com and go to support put in l7 subwoofer,look for 2004 l7 tech manual and have fun.they show the port being on the side.it would probably work well in a trunk car.i like port back sub back in my hatch.at times i feel my box for my 12 cvx at 2.5 cf is too small of a box,but thats me.if i do another box,it would be 3 cubes fo sho,especially if i had an l7 with a 1000rms watts

i just recently built a box for a mustang....it was 3cubes at 35hz....we haven't hooked it up to a good amp yet (by good i mean somethin puttin out over like 500watts), but from what i've heard it sounds really nice picks the lows up pretty well also....both sub and port firing into the cabin btw

I had my L7 in a 3.0cuft @ 32hz and it made a big difference over my prefab, id say maybe 2 cuft box.

i got a 15 L7 in a 4 cube box, tuned to 35hz. it was in a wedge box sealed just barely smaller. definately sounded better and louder in the ported box. also its in the trunk, sub forward port forward. crunch 1500.1 pushin it.
