12" jl w3v3

Sealed or vented enclosure?I am running two of those, they ran great on a JL 500/1,Ihave run them on a mrp-650-m--600 rms at 2 ohms(Alpine V power),I've heard them powered by the mrd-605(digital 650-Alpine V-power)the digital has a birthsheet of 632 rms at 2 ohms.I am running mine right now ,vented enclosure,mrd-1005 Alpine digital,2 12w3-3-4 wired parallel to 2 ohms. The new Alpine PDX--600-1 will have a constant 600 rms at all times(like the Slash series by JL.That will give you your 300 a sub).If you are going to run a sealed enclosure you will need a little more power than if you go vented,ported,.....it doesn't take as much with a vented.Next paycheck--PDX 1000-1000 rms at 4 ohms or 2 ohms, after taxes and labor for swapping out the 1005 ,I will be at about the $530.00 dollar range. If you think back, the 500/1 JL was designed to run the w3's.Check JL's website and to double check, you can always call the company's technical support line.JL's is great. There is a lot of history with JL,expensive--yes--but the quality instilled behind their name is solid.Alpine amps do make my new 12w-3-3-4's sound incrediblle.
