12" in small ported box

I drive a camaro so I can probably squeeze at max about 2.5cubes out. problem is that I want to use 2 12's ported. does anybody know of a 12" sub with specs for a ported box at around 1.25cubes??

First ones i could think of, since they are shallow mount. .5 to 1 cube specified, but i think i could get away with 1.25 apiece.

Your best bet might be to go with 10's instead of 12's. only reason being that you don't want to make a box that is too small. The smallest box ported even for a kicker (which is what i have) was 1.75cf. Go take a look around crutchfield.com. they have a shit-ton of stuff, then you just google for the best price once you find what you're looking for.

There are some ED subs that don't need much space. 1.25 would probably do good for a 11oV.2

I have never had to worry about trunk space, so i am not very well schooled in which subs have the smallest box specs. Try searching on here and on the sites i gave you. i guarantee you will find something that will fit what you're looking for.

The other thing you have to consider is port displacement. The smaller the box, the bigger the port has to be to get a reasonable tuning. Honestly your best bet would probably be to get one good 10 or 12 and give it what it wants to perform at its best rather than trying to squeeze in 2 and starving them of airspace resulting in shitty performance. The other benefit is that it's cheaper.

exactly, that's why I am trying to find out if there are any good subs that have a recommended range of ported box size that includes ~1.2cubes possibly more but that a pretty accurate measure.

these 12's can go as low as 1 cube per 12 ported....good luck with getting the tuning low because the port will have to be loooong.

does it have to be ported? you can still get very loud without them being ported...

edit: you could put those alpine's under your seat...

I know that subs sound best when they are used closest to the manufactor specs. I previously had a eclipse 15" aluminium whcih was stolen, so for my new setup I wanted to top that so I thougt of doing 2 12's, I also know that ported is louder when done right so I wanted to see if there were any reccomedations of subs that are know to have manf. specs that allow me to properly set this up. if not I may do 2 12's sealed or 1 15.
