12/10'' W7

Since im getting rid of most of my current gear (See classifieds), I am interested in gettnig a single 12'' or 10'' JL W7 and concentrating more on sound quality, but still being able to do a decent number for one 10 or one 12.

I've seen most w7s ran with a JL amp, and im interested in getting like a 12/10w7 and a jl500/1.

next question- Would a W7 run on a kicker ZX1000? The amp does 1000x1@2 ohms, 500x1@4 ohms...

i've always wanted jl stuff..heh

that would be enough power for it...but it will def. do better w/ more

id do a PG 1200.1 or a JL 1000/1 for the 12W7.

i acutally ran my W7 off a 2500d, and it was perfect.

although, if you dont plan to upgrade in the future, its kind of a waste.

get the pg xenon 1200.1 (1200+ at 1-4 ohms)

2500D was a waste to me, as all of a sudden im more about being loud and clear then just obnoxiously loud

i also want an install that looks clean in my trunk -_-

i plan on using my 20.1 on my 12. gotta take into account the weird 3 ohm voice coil. i know the 20.1 might be overkill, but the way i look at it. i can never keep one sub, so at least i can keep one amp.

go with a 1000.1 instead of the 500.1

if you can't sport the 1000/1 a 500/1 will be fine ran one myself and it was pretty much not that noticeable well sorta just gets pretty hot.

I was originally planning to get a 12w7 for my 1200.1. Although I havn't hooked up my new 1200.1, I've seen nothing but positive feed back on it on forums like these, especially when being used with a w7.

I picked it up a few months ago for about $350 shipped....

Since the w7 is soo expensive I've decided to go with a New in Box RE SX 12" that I can get for $225 less then the 12w7.

Hopefully choosing the RE SX 12" is the right thing to do.

I have both a 12w7 and 12sx, even tho you'll save a lil cash the w7 is worth it.. Ive built a few different boxes for both and i'll tell you this, it doesnt really matter what the enclosure is, the re cant touch the w7 in really any category , especially low end and overall smoothness/clarity... The sx is a great speaker but just not close to being on par w a w7

A 9.1 does nothing for a 12w7 @ 3 ohms
