if the amp's frequency response is 20hz to 500hz and the subs frequency response is 20hz to 1500hz does that mean that the sub will only play from 20 to 500 b/c of the amp or not????

the woofer can only play whatever the signal is giving it...

if 500hz is the limit of the amp, that is all the woofer will have..

*note, most woofers have a ton of breakup above 150hz, so running them that high, isn't advised*
