10w6v2.....SQ or SPL?

Hey, I was just wondering if the JL 10w6v2 was designed for SQ or SPL. Do you think 2 of them would get too loud?

Jl does not go out and just make spl subs. All jl subs are ment to sound good, but some can get very loud. The w6 is considered jls flagship sq sub, but it does get pretty loud. Go listen to them for yourself.

Yeah, because there's a universal standard for what "too loud" is //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif

W6v2's are some of the best-sounding drivers out there when properly installed. They also get decently loud, at least to my ears. Will it be as loud as a dedicated SPL setup? No. But we're comparing apples and grapefruits here...

Of course they are going to sound good, but I just don't want to blow out my ears //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif Actually, two subs wont fit in my car (just got done measuring) so I guess it's down to one.

What do you guys think about the preloaded sub boxes that JL offers? I really like the looks of their enclosures and don't mind paying a little more.

Do you know how much I could get a preloaded one for? I would like to see if my insatller could build a replica of the box for cheaper.

I've got a '99 Lexus RX300. It does have a nice trunk, but right on the middle two sides, there are two humps that come up for the wheels wells. I figure one 10 should sound fine since it will be in an SUV.

Forget what I said about not fitting. Obviously I'm a moron. Just remeasured and it will...don't even ask.

Well, would two of these be too loud? I know I should go and listen to them, but I have nowhere to go. I really don't want loud bass. I just want something that sounds nice and smooth.

Would a 12 or 10 be better? Like I said, I don't want it to be reall loud. I listen to alot of alternative, indie, and jamb band type stuff. No rap so no need for thumpin' //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif I read that a 10" would have more punch, but a 12" would produce better low tones.
