100W amp for lower rated speakrs?

Okay, so Im using a kenwood excellon 4x100 w rms amp to power just two polk db6501s, as of right now, in my front speakers. I want to add two additional speakers on it when I replace my stock rear components soon. Will I be safe to find a speaker thats rated slightly lower than 100w rms (i do not plan of having the rears full blast at all times) or will that be a poor decision that will blow them eventually?

So you plan to run 100w to each front and rear speaker? Is that correct.

You are fine running something below 100w. You will just to adjust the volume knob and gain. You will be fine.

yes I plan 100w to front and rear. I was looking at the polk mm6501 speakers for the rears (or maybe putting them in front if i like how they sound more), but theyre 2.7ohm rated. Would that work with my amp? I would have 2x100 on the front speakers running 4 ohm (polk db6501) and then there would be the polk mm6501s at 2.7 ohm (they are 125 w rms) ...Any advice?

Polk Audio MM6501 6-3/4" component speaker system — also fits 6-1/2" openings at Crutchfield Signature

EDIT: i know the gibberish i typed was confusing, ill try to clarify.

my amp is 150 rms x 4 at 2ohm

100rms x 4 at 4 ohm

but what if i have a little of both 2 ohm (2.7 to be exac) and 4 ohm

What will the amp put out if i have 4 ohms at 100w on the front speakers, and 2.7ohms at 125w for the rear speakers?

the amp will put out whatever the ohms is. you can have 4 ohms to the back @ 100watts and 150 @ohms on the fronts. (2.7ohms guessing would be around 130watts?). will be perfect for all the speakers you plan on running. 20watts or so over a speakers rms rating is fine. generally speaking, about 25% over rms rated is what any speaker or sub can handle before worrying about any problems.
