Don't forget about shipping charges. American Bass XFL all the way. I just recommended it to another noob. One of the best budget subs under $200 that handles 1k RMS and come in either D2 or D4.

I have the new 2012 alpine swr-10D4 which handles 1000 watts RMS and 3000w peak and I got it for $145 and free shipping. Was just wondering if there's any others in its class at the moment

Yes I have one in my car with 1000 going to it. It hits about 3 times as hard as my last type R which had 500 RMS going to it

I have a 10" It hits pretty hard. Got an MRP-M1000 on it right now. at 2 ohm. It sounds great, but it will stink pretty good after about 30 minutes of bumping.

Sundown SA-10, SSA Gcon, Skar VVX 10. I think those are all under $200.... and yes. They will all take 1k.

Sounds like you're either clipping it, or it can't take 1kW rms. I've had 1.2k on my SA-10 for a year now and it's only gotten smell once, and that was when I clipped it.

Is that because it's new? Or does yours have hours on it. I broke mine in for about 8 hours before I cranked it I don't have no stank problems

It's because he's clipping it.

Its because I am clipping it. When I set the gain right, zIt doesnt sound how I want it too. Dont lecture me. I know how to set the gains. I just choose to make it louder.
