those setups do look pretty f**kin stupid
Don't worry, I feel the same way about 99% of the build pictures posted here.

There's apparently something going on with time alignment of the midrange and tweet there, as well as tailoring the cabinet to reduce baffle step diffraction...but continue on.

well... i'm not trolling and i asked politely not to hijack this thread. and... to those that think these speakers look hideous, your only popping at the mouth to look cool. the pics i posted is from a build log in sweeden. i got the exact blue prints and build log pics to do the job. i did find a company in new jersey who sells the complete speaker in any finish you desire for $31,000. the crossovers alone cost $3000. the drivers for this project cost more than most peoples whole entire home theatre system. if i build them myself, i'll save $6000.

i figured with all these box builders... especially spl competitors, that someone here could tackle the job. i guess, i was wrong. this project is too complex. i highly doubt any one here has the wood working skills good enough to build this speaker.

the guy that designed these speakers(tony gee) is a nutt... all these drivers are super efficient. the 12" and 15" are playing the same frequency. box design, speaker placement all play a factor with the tone. i heard these speakers when i was in miami last october. they completly blew me away. the bass is tight and will crack your chest plate in half. i didnt see any flaws in all the music i threw at it.

oh... dont you sound like a chump that got his *** beat daily in highschool... then another kid takes your place and the guys that used to beat your *** took you under their wing... and you come up to the guy that's getting *** wooped now and you punch him in the face and say... "we dont like you, gimme your lunch money"

fail...

and no... no one here has the skills to build this enclosure. and... if it dont make money it doesn't make sence. this isnt a favor, or trying to score cool points... it's business.

oh no, JimJ is getting technical.
Not liking something for cosmetic reasons is one thing, but dismissing it without knowing why it looks that way is something else, people forget that here //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

He has a design that uses Hiquphon OW-2s and Audio Technology drivers I've been thinking about trying...very minimalistic crossover.

Just curious, what's your system chain that would be in front of these?
dodd tube preamp and bryston ss. i wish i could run this speaker active, but the builder in new jersey said it's impossible. he tried and gave up. i cant belive how exspensive those crossovers are. i really want this speaker, but i might end up building my own klipschorns. those are tough to build too, but the parts are no where near as exspensive as the galactica. i have blue prints for the klipschorn too, and a hook up on after market horns and mids.
