So I want to get 2 12" RE SE's. I would like to get a Hifonics Brutus 1500d amp to power them BUT my stock electrical system could not keep up with that and a HO alternator that has enough amps to power that is out of my picture thanks to college coming up. So my question is will 500 watts to each be plenty of power to make them sound good or would I be better off goin with some PGTi's with 500 goin to each. The amp would then be a Hifonics Brutus 1000d. Any help would be appreciated.

500w will be good for the SE's. You could go for the 1500w though, you're not goign to be cranking it all the time.

Ex. My jbl 1200.1, I have dimming problems too, but ony when i crank it up, and thats once a week if that. So I would go big, it leaves you room to upgrade in the future if you want.

The JD does ~800 watts@ 3 Ohms so I assume there would be no noticeable difference.
