1000-1500 watts?

I have the ground wires the "big 2" if you will, I have a feeling this will turn into an argument of why id don't have the alt wire. (don't get me started, please)

The basic problem will be the idle output of any alternator. its not the same as what the alternator's rating is. its much lower, about half.

My system is just fine when im driving and have the alternator rev'd up. but at idle with the lights on and system up, I do have voltage drop.

My truck probably uses something like 60-70 amps just to run its own electrical needs not including my system..

your vehicle will probably pull half of what your alternator is rated. that would leave like 35 amps to power a system. that would only leave room for a little over 500w of stereo equipment. (thats only considering your alternator is reved up) if you exceed that then you will have voltage drop, which causes your alternator to heat-up and eventually fail if it happens enough.
