10 vs 12 - Does it really matter for a little extra bump

I decided that I dont need a sub, because where I live, im almost sure it would get jacked.

So, say I want a sub just for the extra lows that the 6x9 or 6.5 (I havent decided yet) dont give out.

Space is also an issue, so is a single 12 really sound better at all rather then a 10?

Im just looking at cheap JL's and Alpines, maybe even MTX they look decent for the price.

But just you now, 80-100$ range.

Thoughts on this?

subs make noise by moving air. 12's more more air than 10's. they make more noise. they need a slightly bigger box. take the same power.

now search, read, and learn. dont expect us to tell you exactly what to buy to suit your exact needs.

Get a 10" Alpine Type S, push it with a 2-300 watt amp, a small box (~.75 cubes) and call it a day.

This car audio stuff gets addicting so don't get too into it.
