10" subs under $125?

I have a b stock Sundown E10v3. I ran it on a 1100w Diamond @1 ohm and it never got warm to the touch playing rebassed music and test tone burps for 30mins straight.
And here i thought i would have to lower the gain on my amp to accommodate the 500 watt rating of the e10v3... ha ha ha guess not //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

After impedance rise I estimate she was getting 550-600wrms- barely enough to give her a tickle. If the gain is set right, most subs can take an amp 3x their rms due to impedance rise.

So it seems like it fits, 3 spacers was the charm. I wonder if the plastic enclosure will hold...

Hell..You have it..Run it!! Try it out.Can always build another enclosure /external enclosure later on of which will more than likely perform much better. At the least, Id place a washer under that mounting tab and one on top to add a little security for a weak plastic mount.Run it!!

Ya i'll get it painted, but it will be behind a seat anyway so you won't even see it just feel it.

I calculated the enclosure volume at 0.55 cubic feet, with some polyfil it should be closer to 0.6 or 0.65, subtract the sub displacement and your at the recommend box size of 0.5 from sundown. It looks goofy i know, but this is a 2 seater car with no space whatsoever, the fact that a sub enclosure was even included is a plus http://www.solsticeforum.com/forum/f61/amp-placement-46367/#post697421

Wow.Ya..not much room for sure. Might be best in the future if wanting some lows to place a ported enclosure in the trunk space if there is a trunk and leave the amplifier behind the seats to get some air. I did like the comment about covering the existing plastic enclosure with some kind of deadnermay help with getting a little better SQ out of the enclosures environment.Could always place a new dedicated sub amp in that space behind the passengers seat and place a ported enclosure in the trunk space if you want more low end.

Iguess my only concern would be the sub hitting the back of the seat??When playing/excursion? But I couldnt really tell how that enclosure really sits as the Pics ran out on me/not able to view.Thats why I say may be best to put a dedicated amp there, or leave it empty and place an enclosure in the trunk and get an Optimized/ built enclosure to get better results out of that sub.

The sound deadener is a good idea, shouldn't be any issues with the sub hitting the seat, there's enough distance between the two.

There's even less room in the trunk //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I agree on the deadner usage.Well that is great that you have some space for the subs excursion if needed. As you can tell, Ive never had an opportunity to install anything in those vehicles, or have been around one to work in.I have seen and sat in a 14 vette that a guy placed a single 10 sealed and covered in the front floor board in the passengers side, and I had plenty of foot room and couldnt even tell it was placed there and sounded very good

you could get rid of the vinyl cover in the trunk/remove it completely?? And get a fiberglass cover? and have that room to work with??Just have to drive with FGlass roof on daily, or remove on Sunny days:D.The FGlass cover would help seal off more also and give you some better sound too even?
