10" subs for trunk???

Ok, I tried some Kicker L7's in a slot box awhile back, and sounded like crap, any of those listed would be an improvement, and do kickers sux that much!
Here ya on the fiberglass panels!!
No but Kickers are mainly SPL not SQ drivers. I'm sure with your listening to a lot of hard rock you wouldn't want to go ported. (The slot box) Sealed is better for rock IMO. I can tell the diff. in SQ when I listen to rock between a ported and sealed box easily. Thing is I'm in a dillema because I listen to lots of rock and rap about equally //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif I bet my XXX will still get pretty **** loud if I seal it and put on another 400w like I plan to //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

your running a 15"? I hear ya on the rap and rock...... being in the trunk, I figured maybe 10's for the rock, but now I don't know??? Crap! Could I get away with 1 15"???

I'm running a Kenwood KDC-X979 eXcelon, and a hifonics 1500 mono amp. Good ground, 4 gauge power. Ran the subs at 1ohm. The only thing I don't like about this set-up is that the HU has one 1 rca jack for subwoofer.

heavy metal sounds terrible with powerful bass and a lack of midbass... I think that's why the L7's sounded so crappy. Rock doesnt emphasize the low frequencies nearly as much as rap does. I would get a new set of components with good midbass before I got new subs.

Been a long time since Ive seen Alchemies recommended. Good little subs. Since we're going old school, might as well include their arch-rival, the SoundStream Exacts. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif I hear SS is even making them again.

I like the Alchemy series ... always sounded good to me, and are quite affordable. Some of MB Quarts offerings don't get mentioned much either, likely because they don't shake the pictures off of walls or make your ears bleed. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

The Exacts are awesome - http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?&DID=7&Partnumber=299-670
