10" MTX 8000 for $37.00 Shipped!!

Think a Rockford Fosgate P6002 will be good for 2 of these? My work sells them and I get one brand new for about $255 instead of $500. I can order the 7002 and 8002 for about 1/2 price if the 6002 isn't good enough.

guys, I am going to get 3 of these. Which ones do i need to achieve something around 2 ohm load. Nothing under 2 ohm. My bd1000.1 will produce around 1000-1100 watts at 2 ohms.

What size ported box do they sound the best in. I am limited with my trunk because I can only go 15" high about 30" wide and 15-18 deep. What would you tune yours to.

it not that big.... see:

Okay I don't really understand the deal with Ohms all that well. But if I have an amp that runs 400x2 rms at 2 ohms could I hook it up to 2 of these mtx's and have them running 400 rms each? Cuz don't those subs run at 4 ohms? But if you wire 2 of them together right it will be 2 ohms? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/blush.gif.99bc659ee2012b7d826165e26fb5eebe.gif

"2 of them can be wired to 2 ohms, 3 would be 1.33 ohms" Oops, I'm retarded, nevermind.

two 4ohm woofers can be wired to eaither 8 or 2 ohm. you have two channels - 400w each channel @ 2 ohm per channel amp. youd need two of these subs per channel to get that power, and each woofer would split that, so each would get 200 watts.

if they were DUAL VOICE COIL - its similar, but each woofer is singualr and can be wired as if there were two 4ohm subs. i like DVC2 the best.

//edit

i got 3 of these - i only paid for one. how nice. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/clap.gif.178cba2c538c68e720c727fcb024b19c.gif

Okay so I can't wire 2 of them to take 400w rms each, they have to split it if they are running two ohms, and they can only run two ohms on one channel since they don't have dual voice coils?

you can most likely bridge your amp @ 4ohms, or run each channel @2 or @4.

these subs are 4ohm. you can run one sub off each channel and itl get like 200w most likely, or double up- wire down to 2 ohm, and they will still get 200ish watts.

the 'rule of thumb' is usually this- whenever you step down the resistance, your power increases, but alot of amps are not stable with less resistance. most amps can NOT be bridged lower than 4ohms, and can not be ran under 2ohms in any circumstances. there are many amps that can do this- but as a rule of thumb, dont bridge lower than 4ohms, or run lower than 2ohms (seperate channel) unless the manual says so - or you know otherwise.

so its eaither two subs, seperate channels - ~200watts, or 4subs, 2channels, ~200w each.

id go with 4. much louder.

So I could get 4 and run 200w to each at 2 ohms, running 2 off each channel right? But since the subs are 400w rms shouldn't you get more power to them, I've been told that it's real bad to underpower subs.
