I am planning to install a sealed enclosure in a BMW e46 through the skipass. there's a guy selling an unused Kicker S10L7 dual 2ohm at 30% below retail. And I am also interested in a JBL P1022 which is rated at a conservative 400rms. The JBL is really efficient as well but costs about the same price as a new S10L7.
I am going for a sealed enclosure due to space constraints and complexity of installing a vented enclosure in the sedan without causing cancellation. Secondly I also dont wanna weigh down the car too much cos of the fuel price and more importantly I like to street race sometimes.
As for the amp, it will deliver around 700rms true power at 1 ohm. So I'm asking your opinion on the 2 subs and perhaps some other recommendations. Please note that some brands are not available here. Also Kicker and Alpine agents somehow screwed up here and left the country so after-sales service may be a problem. Even so, brands that are readily available are Alpine, Kicker, JBL, Pioneer, Sony, Digital Design, Starsound Digital, Calibra, Atomic, JL Audio, Earthquake, Focal, Rockford and Lightning Audio.
As for the type of music I listen to: Alternative Rock, Pop, Metal and Rap, Hip Hop, House and Rave sometimes as well. Heck I even started listening to some slow jams recently! That probably covers all the genres except classical!
So after all that would you recommende the L7, the P1022 or something else?
