I just thought some one might be interested in my little project. They will be 1 watt set tube amps using thee 13em7 triode. You can pick these tubes up on ebay for about 5 bux plus shipping in NOS condition. I made the enclosures my self. I think they actuall turned out ok.

heres a little video. Its a pair of tube amps I built a couple of months ago. They are 8 watts a piece but dont let that fool you .They can get pretty loud. They are hooked up to a pair of Tritrix towers I built as well and bed linered them. I think they came out great and at about $250 in cost for the pair , best sounding speakers Iv ever owned.

Very cool //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I'm using the 6-volt version of that tube as drivers in my SV811 monos. TV oscillator tubes are dirt cheap for that, you're right //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Do you have a schematic for those you could post up?

very cool.

The case make it look homemade. Not feeling that bedliner.

Should think about a polished Maple case. That would look very nice imo.

Even wrapping the mdf in a veneer would dress them up.

There's some easy projects on http://boozhoundlabs.com/

Bottlehead has some kits that have all the parts you'd need, something like a S.E.X amp would be a great beginning kit (and very similar to those 13EM7 monoblocks, except in a stereo amp).

Efficient speakers are a necessity, though. 96-100dB/W. Think vintage Klipsch or Altec theater speakers.

ahh very nice, thanks alot. Gonna read up on it now.

So is it all hooked up to a seperate eq to tune? Would that speaker kit posted b4 work well for the kit? I'm really wanting to do some kits, and diy

I was gonna say, 1 watt isn't too uch power in the days of kilowatt class D amps
