1 w7 vs 2 w7's

JL says they're good for 1500 watts.

If you comparing based on a sealed enclosure, before I'd spend the money on another W7 I'd port the single driver instead.

Based on the original statement though, theoretically it should be around a 3-4db gain, vehicle not taken into consideration. Based on what type of vehicle it is, sometimes the single driver can more efficiently couple with the interior space if the space is limited.

what do you mean i wouldnt see that big of a difference if i lowered the wattage on the 2 w7 then it would make it even more equal to one w7
Take a 5000 watt sub and feed it 2k, and take a 2500 sub and feed it 2k. The 2500 watt sub is going to be louder. You may gain a little due to cone area but it would not be nearly significant as hitting them each with 1500watts. I dont see the gain of the cone area being worth getting another and putting them both on 750watts. Just my .02

Doubt that very much, possibly 1 to 2dbs if he is lucky. If he added another and hit it with 1500 watts also, I will buy the 3 to 4 dbs.

Many differ in their opinion and the subject has been debated to death, but the theory that I have always heard and has been preached as long as I can remember is that doubling cone area or doubling power should yield a 3db increase in output. That's the basis of the statement.

If the cone area and power were doubled, the theory dictates a potential 6db increase. This is without any given consideration to enclosure design or affects of vehicle acoustics, and assumes the amps are given proper electrical supply and optimum load.

I've never personally tested the theory, could be completely off the mark either way. I personally wouldn't spend the money on a second driver like the W7 for SPL sake, but I'm just one person among many.

if i bought two w7 then i would buy 2 1000 watt amps but if i bought one i would max it out and buy a 1000 watt amp and a 500 wat amp. what is the difference between the slash 1000/v1 and the 1000/v2

the name...//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif maybe a little bit of effiency...

I know you where not askin for any other suggestions but i say

why not buy a solid 2 kw amp, a bpx2200.1/sd2kw/ or a smaller stetsom amp and run it on a ssa xcon 15 or a t3 tss v2 15. If you wanna go 2 lower power subs, go with 2 ascendant audio havocs.

You will not be disappointed in any of the above mentioned subs or amps.
