Alright so here's the deal right now i got one 12" soundsplinter RL-p and a sealed box and they haven't been installed yet/

Basically in my car i just listen to a good amount of rock and alternative and i dont really listen to that much rap at all.

Should i spend more money and buy another RL-P and a ported box? then though i would need to buy another amp of course which is money out of the pocket.

The sub would be $215 then i would need to sell the diamond D5 amp i have now and buy another amp + a box so i would end up spending an extra few hundred dollars.

Would it really be worth it? I had one 15 in my car before ported and it was a bit overkill for rock but for rap it was hot shit

also i know the RMS on the RL-P is 500watts, is it really worth it to give it more, can i squeeze a good amount of SPL say giving each driver 750watts each or will it be a wiser choice to just buy a 1000watt amp instead of trying to get a 1500watter?

Just hook it up in your car first and see what you think //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif No point in getting all stressed out about what to do, when you may just be perfectly happy with the 1 12 you have now.

So, just drop the sub in and see what you think //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

why dont you just port the one you have now //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

if you ended up with two ported. itd be like twice as loud as one sealed -_-

my old car got wrecked and depending on which setup i choose the amps and wiring are going to be in totally different places so i want to decide before everything goes in.

I think i might just buy another RL-P, a prefab ported box tuned to 30hz and a refurb planet audio p1250d. This would only be like $250 for all of that if i sell my diamond D5 amp

getting a prefab ported box "at 30hz" will most likely make them sound like when your in a public stall, and some fat dude goes and drops a deuce in the stall next to you - and he had tacobell for lunch.

that would be a waste of two perfectly good RLp's

why not just get kicker CVR's if you are gonna do that?

i don't see how buying a box from a small company that makes them and sells them on ebay is different than buying a box from some dude on a web forum who would offer the same box.

The only box i bought from a board member was far worse built than anything i've gotten off ebay

i never said buy one built.

but make one yourself MADE for the speaker, not just genaricly designed for all speakers.

with sealed - you can get away with prefab. but i would NEVER recommend anything ported.

1.) First listen to the RL-P you have now in a sealed box.

2.) Then build yourself a vented enclosure for that one RL-P.

3.) If you're still not satisfied, then start thinking about 2 RL-Ps ported.

You're trying to go from hardly being able to stand to running High School track. You have to take the necessary steps in between to get there.
