i have 2 memphis 600 watt dual voice coil 4 ohm 12's. should i use a hiphonics 1000 to 1 channel at 1 ohm amp or a sony xplod xm-2200gtx 1200 to 2/1 channel at 4 ohms?

1200w is the Sony's MAX power output...which is meaningless.

It's only 500w RMS bridged into 4ohms, according to the info I've found.

Which Hifonics model were you looking at?

That amplifier is only 500w RMS into a 1ohm load.

It is not a 1kw amplifier, that is the Max power rating...which is meaningless.

When looking for an amplifier, only concern yourself with the RMS rating of the amplifier (same goes for subwoofers/speakers...RMS is the only power rating that matters). This is the specification you want to look for.

What subwoofers (model, not just brand) do you have ?

I have 2 Memphis Mclass 12" 1024d I think 200 watts rms 400 max im gona run them to a 1 ohm load prob. I just figured I would give them a lil more since my car electrical system is lil old lol..(1990) and its take a beatin...later on im gona put 6 of the Memphis’s in a blazer but that won't be until later this winter...sorry for the 1st post I asked a friend to do it while I was running around //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

Then either of those amplifiers would work.

Out of those two options, I personally would take the Hifonics....but not before looking at other options..LOL

im tryin to stay under 200 thats all i got atm im saving up for when I do the blazer project.
