I am about to do the 2 type x's and i'm lookin at getting the second 1501d to power it. but i was informed that i could run 1 1501d @ 1 ohm and get ~2kw. If thats true, i may just keep the one i have and run it at 1ohm and use the 2nd for another car (my bro?). OR should i run 2 and keep it at 2ohms each?

Alpine type X does better with 1500 watts each or more.

Use to have one on a 1000wrms and was not happy with it. Till I threw it on my Herc for a day. I had to lower the gain a lil bit but it sounded hells alot better

yeah. i smelled it with the other one i had in too. i have the 2nd one in now for a break-in period. it's not strong but i do smell it. maybe it's normal? ??

you have a quite good electrical, I love the idea of 2 of those 1501's, that will be POUNDIN!! maybe another battery so you keep your voltage where you want it, but you should be fine with whatcha got now

hells no. i smoke weed so i dont remember shit. i would say i'll do it today, but i know i wont.

If you plan to run a 1501 at 1ohm and dont have the electrical to back it up you will be constantly getting it repaired. I have mine running at 1ohm with 1/0, big 3 in 1/0, and a stinger spv70 and have no dimming at all. You just have to be very careful with them at 1ohm though. I also heard and seen supposed results that get around 1800-2200rms out of a 1501 which is also at 14.4. But with you're electrical listed in the sig you should be good on 2 1501's at 2ohms at least I would think.

But like I said, just be careful with a 1501 at 1ohm because they will burn up in a heart beat. I've been running mine for 3 years at 1ohm and only had to get it repaired once due to a different issue with RCA's. Great little amps though I just bought a Thunder 4202, have a Thunder 4122 in the car now, a Thunder 4200x, and a ton of 1501's lol.
