1 Memphis 1000d VS 2 Audiobahn A8000t

Ok right now I have two audiobahn A8000t amps. They are 1600 watt amps with a RMS rating of 800 RMS per amp. However my sisters boyfriend said he would trade me his memphis 1000d amp for one of my audiobahn amps. This will be hooked up to two dual 4 ohm 15 inch kicker L5s.

With the Audiobahns I could have around 800 RMS going to each sub and with the memphis I could have around 500 RMS going to each sub. Now obvisouly the audiobahn will be more wattage but I know namebrand makes a heck of a lot of difference. So do you think I should get the memphis or just keep my audiobahns?

Thanks.

DO IT DO IT DO IT

ive owned both that memphis amp and some audiobahn sub amps along the same lines as that audiobahn.... it will be less power but the spl differance wont be drastic but the SQ WILL be noticeable....those memphis are top notch amps for the price and have done circles aroun my audiobahn amps in the past, both class d and class a/b's......id sell the other audiobahn for as much money s i could...shit you could run 2 1000d's and it wang real hard, but it should sound prety good with only one, i'll tell you those 1000d's can take an asswhooping of abuse on even the hottest florida days. they may get hot but they'll run a long time before anythign goes bad

Right now he is having some problems with the memphis. He just got it back from where he sent it in to get fixed and he got it back and its doing the same thing. Its not wanting to hold a 1 ohm load. He is supposed to be taking it to some guy tuesday and hes going to use his ohm meter on it and see if he can find out what is wrong.

I would be able to hook the two dual 4 ohm L5s up to a 1 ohm load wouldn't I, of course after he gets the amp fixed. I would have 550 RMS to each sub. At 1 ohm the amp is 1100 RMS.

that's why you dont buy memphis on the internet because it has a 3 year warranty and they will send you a new one

He has a warranty on it. He sent it in to get it fixed because it was doing the exact same thing its doing now. He just got it back the other day and its still doing it.

He sent it back to memphis to get it repaired again. Takes a while though. He said last time it took about a month for him to send it off...get it "fixed" and sent it back.

So you would take the mephis 500 RMS to each sub over the audiobahn 800 RMS to each sub?
