http://www.spiroweb.com/48lported.gif is the building sceme that I made for the box above, subs are 12" running 500wrms @ 4 ohm powered by two phoenix gold 900.1´d who give 450wrms @ 4ohm to each sub.

due to some idiot that is driving around in my hood stealing cars empty that have some equip. in them I decided to change my new install from the backseat to the trunk so that it was a bit harder to steal... hrm.. problem occured :

the box is tuned at 38hz and its running fine however when i set my volume at half and run a test cd then the system confirms that 38hz is my best point of frequency, when i pump it up (142db) it stops (subs just stop for 2 secs orso) and i cant get it to be any louder while the subs where not dowing anything (they where hardly moving) and they also didnt get hot (atleast the conus didnt).

Now I try the same thing on 60hz and I get upto 144.9db but still the subs do not seem to be moving and the sound is a bit off.

I watched my thermal and impedance production light on the pg amp and they didnt lit up so that couldnt be it. Next thing I tried is measuring the voltage on the amp ports which where a bit low when pumping (11.8v) but it was doable for the moment... next thing was measuring the remote, this dropped as low as 9v and my guess is that the phoenix amp cant function on that voltage so I made a switch below dash and putted a straight power wire on it for manual on/off switching of the amps, now this works a bit couz i can get a lot louder (149.8) but still the subs are not moving a lot and it still cuts off when i go past 65% of the power to give... now.. anybody ANY CLUE what this could be ?

can it be so that my battery is just not enough ? if so, what are the options for more batteries, alternators and how to connect them best....

spectron, currently only one in my system for upcoming drag contest on sunday.
