1/2 mdf for 10" kicker comp?

There is lots of flexing in ported boxes. My box is getting completely destroyed by my 4 L7s
that doesnt count your car probably flexes too

internal box pressure is actually much higher in a ported box... there was a thread about this somewheres
//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/blackeye.gif.66a1670f5aaf7f406e783a63e3387dc5.gif lol so yea ill put a brace along its longest points .. thanks for the help

are you sure that ported enclosures dont flex. i have installed a shit load of enclosures. and customers come in with these flimsy 1/2" mdf ported enclosures that flex like crazy. remember lower freq make flexing allot easyer then higher freqs.

just grab a 1/2" panel of mdf 8" long and it will bend about a 1/2" with only 4 pounds thats less then the wight of any 10" sub, now have that sub shake the hell out of that box and its flex time. specialy with panels bigger then 12". dont get me wrong its realy not a big deal, but if you want to build it right, just add some bracing to the box. make it solid. it will increase the output of the sub as well.
