2 12 inch 187's? Will be powered by a Hifonics BX 1205. what do yall think? I am leaning more towards the 187's.
I have a 1996 jeep grand cherokee. I have plenty of room. what would give them more range? ported or sealed? I wanna hit as many notes possible! How much room for an enclosure do you have at your disposal?
not even CLOSE. more toward the L7 range... between the L5 and the L7 imo. some MIC hungary beasts they are.How would a 187 compare to a 2005 Kicker CVR?
Ive never even though of the 187s...
i wouldnt say its a rolloff point, those subs kept getting louder and louder. 2kw per sub was excellent on them. i just wouldnt feed it more than 800ish daily. it will handle massive amounts of power for short bursts.Wait, that Brutus is supposed 1200 watts at 1 ohm, or 900 watts at 2 ohm. Now, according to team Pwnage, probably one of the best experts on IA LIs, 800 watts is about the rolloff point for an LI. So basically you've got too much power for a single LI. Instead, if you get dual 2 ohm 187s, you can wire them for 900 watts, or 450 apiece. If you get the dual 4, wire in 1 ohm for 600 watts apiece. That would wang hard.
I agree with your first decision. Get two dual 4 ohm IA 187s, wire them to 1 ohm for 600 watts apiece, put them in about 1.5 to 1.75 cubes sealed apiece for some serious fun. =)
