1/0 Grommets

not a fan of those, I use the water proof ones only now.
These arent? If it where the wire passes through or around the outer edges that isn't waterproof? Couldn't you Dab a little silicone on them to help? Reason I ask is because these wont be going under my hood, just inside the cab for gounds and whatnot

really depends on the application for sure man..if drilling through the Firewall under the hood, the waterproof grommets you chose would deff be Ideal,if not going through a rubber plug and sealing with silicone both sides, sure makes life easier.Drilling a hole, and using rubber plugs from orileys/Autozone work great as well.for me, it just depends on where, and what firewall id be running through. There are several other ways to do as well.Ive gotten creative at times, with what I had lying around..LOL

I've got a hole in my fire wheel big enough for 4 runs of 1/0 so I'm not worried about that, the holes I need these for will be to ground my rear batt to the frame, amp rack for beauty purposes, etc.

I used the ones like your first link in my boy's truck, got them at the local ace hardware store for a few pennies. I did notice that they don't seem to be completely waterproof, we had to pull the carpet up for something a couple of months after the install and it was damp right by the grommets, nothing to serious but it is something I need to address before we put new carpet in.

Something you think some silicone would fix?

Probably, I know I used a little but not a lot, I don't like to glob the stuff on, it's my ocd I guess. The wire goes through the floorboard in the rear of his ext cab portion so it is a pretty susceptible area to water intrusion.

silicone /Globb after you clean it with alcohol is best would be great..FormaGasket works excellent as well if you have any.I like using that better, when done/dried, i shoot with black paint..just me.If you can get both sides cleaned with alcohol it will seal/adhere much better

I bought mine at lowes. it was in the hardware section? (bunch of drawers with misc. stuff) they wer 1 or 2 bucks each or something but they seem to seal real nice. you have to watch not to drill to big a hole, you want them to fit snug.

No silicone or seealant on mine.
