i couldnt find the answer so ill ask.the fuse that came with my zx1000.1 takes 4awg and says to install it no more than 18" from the amp.would it be ok to run 1/0 awg wire(fused at the batt of course) to the fuse holder with a 1/0-4awg reducer ?

Should be okay, but the "proper" thing would be to use a fuse holder that accepts the 1/0 wire.

Search the classifieds for knu fuse holder, theres a guy selling a Knu 1/0 fuse holder. I just bought one and a few terminals from him for a good price..
