0g+firewall=lots of broken drill bits....

I barrowed a few feet of 0g from a friend so i could drill a hole in my fire wall big enough for it, and it just wont do it. Theres to many wires around where im drilling (easiest place to get to with a drill) Any other ideas as to how i should do this? Run the wire under the car? Im doin 0g+8g.

what kind of drill bit?

alternative might be to drill into the bottom of the floorpan, where it meets the firewall, near the steering column. That's what I did - plenty of room down there.

Or run it under the car, and just bring it in near the amp.

if you run it under the car, would be a good idea to use flexible conduit and waterproof it where it enters the vehicle...

get better drill bits, sounds like ur using some cheap *** ones, my dewalt bits go through every firewall i do lol only problem i have is sometimes once the hole gets started the bit gets stuck for a sec.

i had no problem going through the firewall, although the only clear place for me to go through was just to the right of the brake master cylinder. only spot under my dash that wasnt covered with a wiring harness, or have engine/transmission bits on the other side.

not that im trying to piss you off but i bet if u took apart your under dash (on both sides) and pulled down your carpet along your firewall you will find a gromet already there plenty large enough for a 0 guage wire.

if you need to drill a hole that large the best way is with a uni-bit.

Yep usually theres a grommet in the firewall you just have to yank that out and there ya go problem solved. I'm guessin this guy is usin some crap drill bits too.

If your car doesnt have a clutch there should be a rub piece that will come rite out and bring the wire rite through there

i have one of those grommets too, i have an 02 accord and its right above the gas pedal

use a unibit by greenwell of from sears, they are expensive but save a lot of time and bits

Not pissed off because everybody that has a beretta and needs power wire ran to the trunk drills a hole all time. There isnt a gromet anywhere and ive already torn my car apart a few summers ago to do the old 4g power.

I have my 1/0 ran under my car..Been there for ~2 years w/o problems...I just ran it against the brake lines on a lift...
