Well my kickers showed up today and I got right to installing them. I built a 1.66cf sealed box for the two and added a little polyfill. Powering the two is a Rockford 325.1 amp I picked up a week ago. Here is a pic I snapped.....

I have build about 6 boxes for my camaro and this one I like the best. It fits just right and still lets me use the trunk. I have a large jacket that I throw over the top to cover the whole thing keeping unwanted eyes from peeking. I must say that I was a little surprised at these subs. They sound very very nice! They are VERY stiff too so a little break in period will do them good. I was not expecting such a clean sound. I set the gain after playing a few different songs then got behind the wheel and put on some rock. The bass hits were sharp and hard, just the way I like it. Rap sounded nice too but you could tell my setup is not designed for it. If I went ported I'm sure it would have sounded great. This is my first amp with a remote bass control and it is just awesome. I can now adjust my bass for each song to sound its best. All in all I'm very happy with them and for $130 shipped I really feel that I got a great deal.

ohh, you got it when there was still the BOGO free? i got me a pair of 12's during the deal as well //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif but have yet to install. i also think you can get a bigger amp for those puppies ;P

I could, but to be honest I do not want or need more power. Any more bass and it would fade out the mids and tweets. I like clean balanced music. Because its a hatchback it really is louder then a car with a closed off trunk. I had two 12's in my old Maxima pushing about 300w each and my new CVR setup sounds just as loud. Rockfords birthsheet says its pushing 415w but who knows. One day I'll test it myself and see just how much power I'm getting to the amp and do the math. The only downside to a hatch back is you hear every sound your subs make so a clean setup is very important.

I think it looks great, and you seem to be very happy. kudos on a great install

How do you like the rockford amp? I like them a lot better since they changed the look.

gotcha. what gen maxima you had??

looks great and clean, but that box looks alot bigger then 1.66 cubes
You know I think its just the pic because It does look very big in it. I just did the math again and came up with 1.62. Someone want to double check me...

(external) 38"w X 15.5"d X 7"h @ 0.75 thick MDF

The motors are only about an inch from the bottom of the box. Here is a pic from the side though it still looks big doesn't it:confused:

NIce install man, but it's not a good idea to use a bass knob, especially not as a "bass volume" controller; may lead to clipping if you don't know what you're doing.

No worries, I know what to listen for. Isn't the whole point of a remote bass control to put the bass right where you want it and stop clipping?
