i cut into the rear fire wall and put a 10" behind each side.. deck isnt too bad.. just remove the cluster bezel.put the amps in the very back.

That's where I was thinking for the amps, too...

I didn't think that there was room behind the drivers seat, I'll have to check it out.

What did you do to enclose your subs?

cut the entire section out and fiberglassed around all the supports back there.

got about 1.25cuft each.

in the rear i removed all the fact. panels in the very back by the taillights, and made an amprack that sat back there.

the car is off to get its ls6 transplant. woot

my bro was either getting the 06 or a 06 350z lets just say he was feeling the z a tad bit more. I love the z. but then again the gxp just came out and wasnt available in 06. It has more power and upgrades now, but i still like z better

I was looking at the Z also, but it would have cost me about $8-10K more. As it is, I'm spending about $30K on the GXP.

If anyone else is looking at them, don't buy from the showroom floor. The dealer marks them up anywhere from $3-9K over the MSRP, bastards. The only problem with ordering from the factory is that each dealer only gets 1 per month, so you go on a waiting list. Mine will get ordered in November and then it takes 6-8 weeks for delivery. I'm getting it for the MSRP though...

I'm looking at using a 10W7 with a 500/1 powering it. I've seen the sub "cut-out/grill" behind the passenger seat in the '07, was there one there in the '06? If so, what was there to house the sub?

I'm kind of nervous about tearing up a brand new car. Running wires and mounting is one thing, Cutting a 10" hole in the fire wall is another. Not to mention that I've never done any real glass-work to speak of...

Also, what size are the door speakers?

i think for the $ the w7 is a tad overrated. but its your cash. What exactly are you looking for in a sub?

I'm happy with the 13W7 I have in the Explorer so I'm partial to JL Audio. I've been using them for years...

I took a base model '07 for a ride a few weeks ago and it had some get-up-and-go about it, so I cant wait til I put my foot down and spin the up turbo on mine...

eh, chains blow. with a good set of studded tires you can get AMAZING traction on ice. I the crew from one of the bond movies talking about how they had to remove some of the studs on the yokawhatthehellever tires that we're made for the aston martin because they were getting just as good traction as they would on a normal road.
