Yeah but I am talking price for price. The tc with the sc package and engine mods would cost the he same if not less than the si or vw //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif I am not talking modified or not. Just doller for doller. And yes she is kept clean, already have many compliments from the v8 / american guys at shows who now hang out with my "import" Was not trying to get this post offtopic but since you asked, here are a few photos... I have the exhaust setup so she is no louder at all on the freeway or daily driving. People think she is stock except for the whine from the supercharger. I build cars with taste and drivability in mind, not bling bling with 500 stickers or a fart can exhaust. She also has many many other mods besides just power.
The tc is a great all around drivers car with light suspension mods. I am running on Tein h-techs with hotchkis front and rear sway bars. Awsome combo. She rides on the freeway or in town just as nice and soft as stock, but hit her in the twisties and she tears it up big time, for a ff she will darn near oversteer if not heavy on the throttle, I have front sway set to soft and rear sway set to the most stiff setting. Interior has plenty of room and is quality. The all glass roof is amazing. features like auto up and down on drivers and passenger side windows, one touch tilt / open sunroof makes it feel like allot more expensive car than it is. Brakes are the same units found on the celica gts and stop the car in good time from memory was tested at 116 feet". My only complaint is lack of an LSD which the SI has. Quafe is offering one soon and I will install it along with a clutch when the time comes. Best thing is a tc's price loaded, not stripped is $16.700. I chose some options that cost allot more like side airbags, factory ground effects kit, factory spoiler and the like so it ran me more doh. But the bottom line is for the same cash as a si or vw, you can beat them both and keep your factory warranty //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif Forgot to mention the torque, she has loads of it with the 2.4L engine and now running 9.5 psi at 9.5:1 compression. Very responsive engine. Going through the mountains rocks now with the supercharger, not loss in hp like it did when it was n/a The vw will also rock in the mountains, and the civic will be a dog above 5-6K feet.
last note, if you wanted to pump some cash, say around $4K extra into your tc for a set of forged pistons and custom rods you can easily be in the 350-400whp mark daily driver reliable "$24,000 - $25,000 total cost". But that is a bit much for me as when I get my dream car, the wife will use the tc as her daily driver. The TRD supercharger I am running is actually nothing more than a vortech f-trim sc unit capable of 20 psi. I am right at 230-235 to the wheels right now at 9.5 psi with oem TRD tuning / ecm flash which is crazy on the safe side and running very rich //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif "255-260 crank" Which is plenty for me. With some very small other mods and some sticky rubber I will nail a high 13 which is all I want the car to do and then it will be retired from racing and my pennies will go to the purchase of my lotus exige hehe.
Forgot to mention the car averages 26-28mpg. Worst I have seen playing hard on the throttle was 22
