05 RE XXX18 ?s

I'm thinking of getting an 05 XXX18, but I've never really been able to find any concrete evidence on what size enclosure they like. I was thinking of doing about 5 cuft@33hz after disp. w/4 4in aeros on about 2K daily, but I've seen people who say that 10 would be good also. Which is it?

They like bigger boxes. The 15's like 4 cubes. I had my 18 in about 7.5. You will want to be somewhere around there.

If my memory serves me correct, there were people running the 15" in up to 6cf enclosures. I believe the older XXX's like bigger enclosures. 8cf-10cf is what I would suggest.

you can also run them in a sealed box with great out put

I suggest ported, sealed sounds absolutely amazing, but ported is much louder IMHO.

Keep the idea you're goin' with.. you should have a great daily setup. Drop low as hell.

My Omega 15 was just where I like it as far as spl, but I wanted a little more low-end, the Omega 12 was close, but still a little too quite. If the 18 sealed can get me a little louder than the Omega 12 ported, I'd be happy with it.

What size sealed enclosure would be good for the 18? Would the low-end on it sealed be able to compare to the ported sound? What would the power handling be in a sealed enclosure?
