05 18" XXX input?????

7.5 tuned to 35.. good mix of output lowend and efficiency.. big boxes make it really peaky down low and you loose alot of upper frequency response and output.. it will easily drop to 20hz in that box and still sound good to about 60hz..
thats what I like to hear

Yeah I would not stick one in 9 cube, thats just too much airspace for a XXX imo. Im sure it will play, and have devastating low end response, dropping off quickly outside of tuning, but how effective is the power handling? And the response outside of the tuning? I mean if thats what your looking for get a BTL, but a XXX is not some ground pounder that needs to take a beating. I would go with a slightly smaller box than usually with a nice low tuning.

Mine really did not like going beyond a rated 2500wrms on musical content. It can take 2500, yes, but its not necessary, not in the least bit. Your doing more damage than good, unless you dont like your equipment to last.

I found it to be very pleasing from around ~1400-2000wrms, doesnt need more than that imo. Im sure some people wont understand and will have their own views, but in my personal experience that is what my recommendation would be.

For box size, for a 15" I would recommend 3.5-4 cube. I had mine in 3.45 and it was just a taaad too small. A little polyfill in the box would have helped though.

If I made another box for mine I would probably go with something more like 3.65. My tuning was 30hz as well.

Very flat response in the enclosure I have, but it is just a tad bit peaky towards the upper end, and it just barely lacks the bottom of the low frequency extension. Which is why I came to the conclusion that just a tid bit larger of an enclosure would be perfect for my tastes.

My .02

I love them sealed //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
yeah, I'm not a huge fan of sealed but it will handle the power better

I know I'm loosing spl by goin this route...but later I might get another 18.

I'm planning on throwing 2k to it, by running my crossfire vr4000 @ 4 ohm
