05 18" XXX input?????

Well instead of makin my motor a 15 I think I will do an 18" by teampsi, and later this summer I will pick up another and run 2.

I will be running 2k to the sub. Now for those that have used the sub, how did you like it, and any box reccomendations for one 18"..this will be in my trailblazer too.

Do it....I love the 05 xxx's. I have a 12" running of an IA 20.1 and it's awesome.

I have read that they do need big boxes

Yes, that big. I would recommend 9 cubes after displacement. But it's really personal preference.

thinkin of tryin somethin new. Always wanted to try an 05 XXX too. Just will hit the lows like crazy and sound crazy.

I will prolly also recone my hdc3's to 18's too...One is kinda messed up right now and will need a recone at some point too. Not too sure about the hdc3's tho, I might need the aluminum coil. After lots of tuning and checking the gain, ect. My hdc3's still seem to warm up easily..about 7-10 min of good play and they start to smell. But I guess thats also gonna happen with most subs when you throw them 2000+ each...right?

I was also thinkin of throwin my hdc3's in a lil smaller than reccommended box to handle the power better and get a lil louder

i had mine in 10.3 cubes after displacement tuned at 32hz on about 1400rms. yeah i miss that set up

7.5 tuned to 35.. good mix of output lowend and efficiency.. big boxes make it really peaky down low and you loose alot of upper frequency response and output.. it will easily drop to 20hz in that box and still sound good to about 60hz..
