04 Ford Explorer Build Log

yeah, I am not going to sacrifice any ride quality.. not worth it imo..

I am going to wear out my tires really fast if I lower so that means I will be looking at shelling out another grand on a set of tires for my 22s along with some suspension parts such as ball joints, etc..

I am thinking ahead, and really it is not worth it..

Also, pictures dont do it any justice, it looks much better in person IMO..

265/40/22r
they are just perfect arent they? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I am very glad i got this size, I always have recommended this tire size for anyone who got 22s on explorer.. It would look good both ways lowered or not
Ya I noticed that they werent the normal 265/35/22 size tires. They do fit the wheel well nice without lowering. Although I think I am going with 285/45/22 //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/cool.gif.3bcaf8f141236c00f8044d07150e34f7.gif:cool:

cool good luck man

my x is in the shop right now as we speak, getting the viper 791xv installed.. i didnt want to go thru the hassle of installing the alarm myself..

lol yeah, I should get a video up soon..

this sub wangs!

my roof flex is nuts (compared to my older set ups)

definitely will be investing into deadeners lol

update:

I pulled the trigger and debadged my x since I was so unsure of doing that.. I have ZERO regret in removing all of them.. looks so much better

pics!

I will have a video of my audio system coming up later today, I just got to go to a parking lot and play some tunes.. just dont want to piss my neighbors off lol

P.S. if any of you had experience in debadging, then what did you all use to rub the outlines of the badges off after removing them I got most off but some are like permanent? It is not noticeable in the pic or when you are standing few feet away but I am anal, I want those fine lines removed.. I m wondering if it would be ok to use rubbing compound to smoothen the lines?

already used goo gone

no sticker residue is there.. seems like there is just fine line just from the badge being on it for so long

I used plenty of goo gone trust me and i used as much force as i could to rub all of those off, but those wont come off, very fine line.. like i said i am anal lol

Want to debadge my Focus as well. What did you use to get them off?

I would think goo gone would have worked, so I don't know. Did you take a buffer to it and try some wax on it as well? That might........might work.

Looks awesome anyway! Would rock your exploder any day of the week!

yeah i think maybe i gotta buffer them.. I am thinking about maybe putting on a bit of rubbing compound to even things out and then put some wax on

or wax alone will solve all of this?

and I debadged it by using my mom's hair dryer and dental floss hehehe.. I went thru 4 small boxes of dental floss!! I would say use fishing line if you can.. it was pretty easy but a bit time consuming, it took me more than an hour to do all of them.. I had to pick all of the thickass stickers off, now my thumb is sore lol

and if you can, do it under the sun.. one side of my expo was in the shade, it was harder to pick all of the stickers off.. so when I moved over to the side that was under the sun, it was a lot easier

video down below..

I fu-cked up with shooting the video.. I had a good video but apparently I did not have it on "record" so FML

here is what I have for now..

(yes I decided to give it a short run in the garage lol)

And was not too sure which song to play so I just played Hood Stomped Out since it wangs in my explorer.. Video might not show that it wangs, I ll try post up a better video later today or tomorrow

FYI, this vid sucks major *** lol

Yeah, it don't show much, lol! Might be like my cameras and not pick up flex for shit! My wiper jumps a good bit on my windshield and on the cameras, it won't pick it up! I am like, everyone will think my shit is weak, but really it is not. Oh well! Who cares, as long as you like it! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Thanks for the tips. I will try it out.

in the tenth picture down it kinda looks like your power wire goes under your seats and maybe through the middle of your cab? idk it does right now but if it is you might not want it running through the middle cause people might step on it carelessly or something you know what i mean? the kinda people that ride in the back and when they get out at the end of the trip your back seats all ****ed up and trashed. other then that il all looks good kiddo/kidow? kid+oh was the word i was trying to spell
