there are some cases where you will have to use an amp intergration harness or you will have to bypass the amp. easiest way to tell is pick up the standard harness and attempt the install with that. best buy has it and if it doesnt work then buy the more expensive harness of bypass.

for steering wheer controls the access universal steering wheel interface will work as long as the deck is steering wheel control compatable.

im not sure how there can be some cases though which need it..? but is there anyway to tell by looking at the stock harness?

i have a 08 impala and i need one its for onstar. if you want to keep your onstar working u need it if you don't then u won't alot of the sound come from your onstar tho

i dont have onstar. im pretty sure only GM has onstar...

there are two different types of amps. one analog and another digital. the digital version you will need the interface. the analog you will not. you can try and see the amount of audio pins you have on the factory harness. if there are less then 8 you will most likely need the interface. does your truck ave an infinity system?

i think this adapter is for a factory amp to keep it workin . so if you don't have it then u probably won't need it

or take the normal harness and turn on the amp and see if you can get the speakers to pop with a d battery. ifyou geta pop you have analog...no pop its digital.

thats what i did with my buick a while back to get some specs on it . i know it kinda a hassle but its free info from the dealer

worst part is the parts guy hear .....i have an after market...waa waa waaa waaa deck waa waaa bla bla bla psssfft psssft....and they tell you ummm.....it has an amp. thats all they know 98% of the time.

well you have to options.... you can keep your factory amp running all your speakers (the 160 dollar harness) still get crappy sound from the factory amp....

or you can get the amp bypass harness (40 bucks i think) and run your speaker off the deck and sound much better.....
